The East Coast Extravaganza Sale Yields Success!
The 2008 East Coast Thanksgiving Extravaganza Boer Goat Sale II was held in Morganton, North Carolina on November 22, 2008 at the Burke County Fairgrounds.
This event is quickly becoming known as the “premier” boer goat sale to attend on the East Coast due to the top quality animals that is represented each year in this sale.
The 2008 Consignors were: T&T Farms, Camp Branch Farm, Owens Boers, RM Ranch, BMack Farms LLC & Jackson Creek Boer Farm.
Despite unseasonable cold temperatures and tough economic conditions on the East Coast, buyers from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Ohio and Maryland were represented. The East Coast Consignors, consigned 67 Lots of fullblood and select percentage goats that were sold for an average of $706.00
Lot # 1- BMF 212 – A RRD Impact buck kid consigned by BMack Farms, LLC (Kinston, N.C.) was the high selling fullblood buck that was sold to Brittany Ridge Farm & Milo Lewis (Maury Hills, N.C.) for $1350.00
Lot # 20- RM 636 Doe- A P/H 300T doe that was consigned by RM Ranch(Cherryville, N.C.) was the high selling fullblood doe that sold to Mr. Bobby Myrick (Biscoe, N.C.) for $2,550.00.
Lot # 3 JCBF Obsession – A 88% percentage doe that was consigned by Jackson Creek Boer Farm (Asheboro, N.C.) was sold to Mr. Wilson Bounds Jr. (Taneytown, M.D.) for $750.00.
This year’s volume buyers were : Eric, Melinda & Morgan Honeycutt from B&E Farms located at McGees Crossroads, N.C. who purchased 8 Lots. Mr. Bobby Myrick from Biscoe, N.C. purchased 6 Lots and Mr. Curtis Byrum from Tyner, N.C. also purchased 6 Lots.
